Welcome about

I'd love to hear from you, so please click HERE to get in touch. I look forward to hearing more about your wedding day plans and details.

You have just arrived at my blog, and I welcome you!

This blog is just a place where I write about my journey as a wedding photographer, as a mother, wife and friend.

I am an illustrative wedding photographer, located just outside Windsor Ontario.  I have a huge love of photojournalism, black and white photography, and weddings that make me cry! I don't like the ordinary, I love being different, and I put my heart and soul into everything I do.

My kids are my greatest treasure and my hubby my greatest love.

I feel that this quote summarizes me and my outlook on business....

"Always hold on to the truth. Don't let others sway your heart. Don't compromise yourself for the sake of temporal groovyness. Be Deeply Funky. Be separate from the crowd that's awash with normality, by standing on a firm foundation. Never waver in your love or faith ...." - John Fluevog.

this past Saturday, I worked alongside Arica Ingratta, and we rocked out another fun wedding!
i don't know where all these wonderful people come from, but i was blown away by the kind and considerate people i got to spend the day with!

i will start out by saying, that when i arrived at the groom's house, to photograph all the guys getting ready, i didn't have a clue what i was stepping into! i will just say, that have 11 groomsmen is not only a bit crazy, but it makes for a super fun time with the guys!
it's the biggest wedding party i've ever photographed, but they made it painless and had me laughing almost instantly (which isn't hard to to by the way).
a big, loving and fun, italian family, complete with HUGE cookie and sandwich trays. Sammy's mom made me take a baggie of cookies in the car with me, just in case i got low blood sugar sometime during the day! such a great mom!
my son Cameron ate all of the cookies on the way to church the next day, since he found the un-opened baggie and gobbled down 7 cookies in about 3 minutes! i guess that's just what 13 year old boys do.
ok, back to the wedding.
the wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful Assumption Church on the campus of the University of Windsor.
i had never photographed a wedding there before, and lets just say that it was a tad overwhelming when i first walked it, but i was enthralled by it's beauty and history. i am a sucker for an old church, and even though i'm not Catholic, i can appreciate the love that went into building such a gorgeous church.  i even snuck up to the organ loft (i LOVE pipe organs) and i went and stood inside the organ as it was playing! yep, i'm a nerd and i wanted to see how the thing looked inside. it was pretty cool.
the weather cleared up after the ceremony, and we headed over the Branteaney's Bed & Breakfast (in Lasalle) for the photos. what a beautiful place!
i was able to stalk a deer and get a pretty decent photo of it.  i love taking photographs of wildlife.
the reception was held at the Fogolar Furlan in Windsor, and Arica and i had a great time hanging out with the videographer , John Chan and his assistant.

i think i am the luckiest girl in the world.
i can't believe that i actually LOVE going to work on saturdays, being on my feet for 8-14 hours straight, and coming home so tired i think i'm gonna die!
it's the best job ever.

so this is the HUGE group of guys i encountered at the groom's house!
SALUT!!

oh well, it makes some an awesome moment!

this past saturday, i worked alongside Arica Ingratta and photographed another wedding here in Windsor Ontario.
i love September weddings.
the weather is nice and cool, the sky is usually a beautiful shade of blue, and i don't have to drink 10 gallons of water to prevent myself from getting seriously dehydrated!
i'm serious people.
unfortunately, the sky wasn't blue on saturday, but that didn't stop Allison and Chad from having a great day. it only rained for a few minutes, but was clear enough for us to be outside for a little bit.
i had tons of fun at the wedding (as per usual) and was treated to a wonderful dinner at the reception.

i just want to take this time, to thank Troy Shantz of Trantz Photography for asking me to shoot this wedding for him, when he couldn't make it due to an illness that had him knocked off his feet.

on saturday, i promised Mary that i would have a few photos up on my blog for her and Peter to check out while on their honeymoon to Aruba.
ok, so i'm seriously jealous about the Aruba thing now. Darryl and i visited my relatives in Quebec on our honeymoon, oh, and we saw the Reversing Falls in New Brunswick as well.
not the best honeymoon on record.
sorry, i digress.....
so, Mary and Peter are in Aruba, and once they finish hanging out by the pool, drinking a frosty beverage or two, playing in the surf, maybe some snorkeling, a fine dinner and maybe some dancing, they can sit down at their computer a check out some photos from their awesome wedding day!
that sentence was way too long. i apologize.

Mary & Peter, thank you for being so awesome to work with on such short notice. thank you for including me in you spectacular day, and allowing me a glimpse into your lives and the lives of your family. you are truly blessed and i wish you much happiness.

oh, and btw....
i had a hard time choosing just a few photos for my blog.
i'm just sayin'

i just wanted to post a little snapshot of the super cool wedding i had the honour of photographing on Saturday.
a fellow photographer, Troy Shantz of Trantz Photography became very ill on Friday, and i stepped in as the photographer for Mary & Pete's wedding.
it was such an honour to be a part of their special day.
Mary's parents had me in tears during their speech, and it is always so wonderful to see how much some families just love each other so deeply.
everything was perfect, from all the details, the food, the schoolbus/party bus, and the friendship & love that surrounded the bride and groom.

here's a little taste of the day. more to follow.

this past weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding in Rochester Hills, MI, with photographer Jackie Blair.
i know that summer is coming to a close, which sucks, but i absolutely LOVE the wonderful weather that usually graces us every September! it was clear and not too hot, the sun was lovely, and i knew that i wasn't going to MELT!!!
YAY for not melting!!!

anyways, Annie & Daniel were married, after being together for 7 years. Daniel and I spoke for a few moments about their time together, and he expressed that he was thankful that Annie was patient with him throughout those years.
true love prevails.

We began our day at St.Mary on the Hills Catholic Church, in Rochester Hills MI, and then we took some photos at Meadowbrook Hall at Oakland University.
Meadowbrook Hall was the most beautiful home i've ever seen, and i didn't even see the inside of it!!!

i have to say, that one of the things i love the most about wedding photography, are the constant lovey-dovey looks that the bride and groom give each other all day long. it's such a wonderful thing to witness.
as a photographer, i try my best to capture some of those looks throughout the day, but there are usually dozens of them, and they are a pleasure to witness.

here's what i mean...

DSC_7110.jpg

i also really like goofy brides and grooms, so if you are reading this and are thinking of booking me to shoot your wedding, i hope you like to be a bit goofy!!!!!

check out a few photos from Saturday!
